Wizards

Several Wizards are provided so that new users can get set up quickly.

Tarpit settings: This option will set your tarpit settings to the recommend initial defaults.

Greylist settings: This option will set your greylist settings to the recommend initial defaults.

HELO settings: This option will set your HELO pattern matching settings for greylisting and message scanning to the recommend initial defaults.

MXRate settings: This option will set your MXRate settings to the recommend initial defaults.

This option also sets the recommended country selections and procedures for dealing with "suspicious" countries based on the assumption that you are operating within the Unites States. Users that are located in other countries or frequently receive legitimate international mail should review these settings and make whatever changes they fee appropriate for their installation. Env/Hdr scanning: This option will set message scanning options to the recommended initial defaults.

Diagnostic reports: This option will open a dialog and display the status of all the Alligate critical files and services. There is also an option provided to create and mail a full diagnostic report. This is helpful and in some cases mandatory when you contact us with a support issue. It is ALWAYS best to send us a copy of this detailed diagnostic report at least 30 minutes prior to calling for technical support or when submitting a technical support question vial email.

These wizards will fill in the recommended settings for various Alligate functions that are generally safe and effective for most users. Please note that the recommended settings are based on what is the safest and most effective settings for US based users. It is recommended that you review your settings before applying any changes generated by these wizards.
